Hello I have a 15hp Sea King by Chrysler model# VWB 52119A. Could someone please tell me the gas/oil mix on this engine and the year? Also I drained the oil out of the case and wasn't sure what weight to go with when refilling. All help is very much appreciated.
Robert

Re: Sea King 15hp

I'm pretty sure all the 15HP Sea King Chryslers used a 50:1 ratio. Buy any good 2 cycle oil that's TC-W3 rated (Pennzoil is one good one) and the mixing ratios/amounts are right on the container.

Sorry I can't help on the exact year of this one, but I believe those were made from 74-87. Maybe someone else can pin it down for you.

Good luck!

Thanks Glen, got any idea what oil I should use when refilling the lower housing? Can I use the same stuff I use in the rearend of my Chevy? Tongue in cheek, but I'm half serious too.
Thanks again

Your 15 HP #VWB52119A is a 1980 model made by Chrysler for Montgomery Ward with the Sea King label.

EDIT: No selling allowed in the forums

Re: Sea King 15hp

:DI also have the same motor except the model number starts with VWS. I just started it yesterday and reset the carb and idle adjustments. I also drained the lower end dope and replaced with some 85-140. I did not have any marine grade oil but I am sure it will be fine. Mine is cold blooded to start and the pull cord winding assembly has a cracked spool so I had to use the emergency pully on top of the engine with the cover off. After I got it started and carb cleaned out it ran good. Good luck with yours, if you find a free manual keep me in mind. Good boating....

Re: Sea King 15hp

:confused:I went to wilson boats and parts yesterday to get a few things I needed for the ol' Sea King. I did not know the year or model number when I went but the parts guy told me this engine was actually built by Merc for Chrysler. The pull core he sold me was too big for the spool so I do not know if his information on the maker is correct either.
