Sea King 3, water problem, gale 1961

I installed new impeller today and thought the water should come out of the chevrons on back of lower unit. did not. it is supposed to come out of there shouldn't it? going to take pump back apart and try shooting some water up the water tube. maybe dirt dobbers or something has blocked passage. any help appreciated.

Well maybe the reason is THERE IS NO WATER TUBE! great, just *&%#@#% great!
closer examination show passage is made in housing.

Well, I have worked on an awful lot of those motors, and can't remember when was the last time I found one plugged up. If ever.

It finally started spitting some water, was kinda expecting more, maybe underway it will do better. is there a seal on that tube that maybe worn out?
