Later this week I am going to be looking at a 1999 Sea Ray 210 Sundeck boat. Can anybody fill me in on what to look for to make sure I cover all my bases. The dealer wants $19,900 and he will not lower the price! I believe it has the Mercruiser 5.0 220 HP motor. It also has 225 hours. Will this boat be underpowered? Any help would be most appreciated.

Make sure you check the floor and the transom for soft spots. Take a rubber mallet and thump around the hull/transom/deck and listen for hollow sounds. For the mercruiser check the manifold risers for signs of rust around the gaskets. Bring a flashlight and poke your head in the bilge.

Also, while this link is for a larger boat, it is a good read.
Sea Ray 25 Sundancer
Forgot to add, a 5.0 should be enough power for the boat

To compare to the new 2005 220 Sundeck (which is a little larger I think) the smallest available engine on that boat is a 5.0 L, 260 HP motor.

So it might be a little underpowered with the 220 HP motor but it all depends on what you use it for and how many people you take with.

If you tell everyone what your planned uses are etc... then you should be able to get some better feedback.

I've got a Chaparral 232 deck boat with a 5.7L EFI 260HP I/O. It's more than I will ever need, so I think you will be OK unless you take 10 people out and love to go FAST. I rarely go over 30, and that is no strain at all.
