I just bought a Sea Ray 230 select and the power trim and the accessories i.e horn, interior lights etc wont come on. The gauges with the motor come on and the radio works. The boat will turn over as well. I have the switches all turned on and have found two breakers which i reset. can anyone give me some idea of what might be wrong?

Thanks

first guess would be corrosion at the helm buss bar and the battery cables

does this have the soft-switch panel or the carling switches?

power trim is wired direct to the battery at the starter

you should have a 2-battery system, could be bad connection somewhere. i suggest starting at the batteries and cleaning every connection to the motor and the helm and back.

Horn is most likely simply dead (they go bad)

we cleaned the terminals. it has the hard switches which i believe would be the carling. is there anyway to get to the starter on this boat? Also non of the panel switches work except the engine control. thank you

did you clean both ends of every cable including the mounting studs they are mounted to? that would be about 20 connections in your boat. not just the connections at the battery. the connections at the starter, the connections at the block, the connections at the battery switch, large breaker, etc. EVERY Connection.

start removing pieces of boat until you get to the starter.

i don't think i can get to the starter. the boat only has one battery. I will go and clean the connections at the switches.

buss-bar is under the helm, most likely on the under-side of the gunwale. they changed a bit over the years.

Gauges work, motor will turn over (crank), guessing it doesn't start, and radio comes on.

None of the panel switches work (Blower, Nav Lights, Bilge) except engine control.

Do you have more then one battery?
Edit: just posted you have only one

What year is the boat?

Thank you for your help. Another guy told me what to look for and it worked. there is actually a little black box above one of the control switches. this black box has a reset button which I had reset. Unbeknownst to me it also has a little black arm that comes out. this little arm just needs to be put back and it makes the circuit

Is there an accessory switch, if so turn it on to see if others work. Otherwise need to get a meter and tace back to where there is either a fuse or breaker blown. Could contact searay for a manual
