Hi

Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the 230 on the trailer.

I need to know the width, height and legth when on the trailer, the width would have to include the trailer wheel arches. I am trying to figure out if the boat and trailer will go into a container for shipping.

Thanks
Rob

Re: Sea ray 230

RMC1111,
I'm not fimilar with the boat in question....
Most Trailers here in the States are limited to 8'6"(102"), Including the Fenders......Although, Most are 8 feet Over-all.....
Thinking that a 230 is a 23' boat, the Beam Should be 8' or less....
Shipping Containers, I Believe are 8' over-all Width, Less the thickness of the Walls, for the Inside Width....
So, the Beam Should be the Limiting Factor.....

These are Questions Better Answered by the Seller, or the Freight Forwarder.....

Re: Sea ray 230

Hi Guys

Thanks for the help, it is the sea ray 23 1995, 23 feet long, with an 8 foot beam, as you say it is the height that is limiting it. Its the 4 berth style on a 4 wheel rollercoaster trailer. Cannot seem to get the height anywhere, especially on the trailer.

Thanks for the info on the trailer width though.
Have not contacted any sellers yet as i do not want to waste their time. If it will fit into container then its worth shipping over to the UK. If it has to go rollon/off ferry prices begin to get out of control.

Rob

I Figured that's what you're attempting....

Height on the Trailer will Depend on the trailer,+ How it was set up.....
I'm afraid contacting the Seller will be the Only Way to be Sure.....
I'm Just Guessing here,
But, I Doubt a boat that Size will be Under 8', Even Off the Trailer.....
Seems to me, the Glass,+ Anything else above the cabin roof will have to be removed + packed.....
I Think most containers are 9' high, But that's Overall... Inside will be Shorter....

Re: Sea ray 230

i've got a 23' inboard (sits lower than i/o), the top of the gunwhales is about 6 1/2' up. the top of the windshield is over 9'. boats are different though.

you'll need the exact height, even letting air out of the tires might be no help.

maybe ask the seller if they've ever put one in a container?

Re: Sea ray 230

The dimensions will depend on the measurements of the boat and trailer and they can vary quite a bit. A suggestion would be to get on the web and search for manufacturers of alumnium float on trailers and get the dimensions of their trailers. Trailers of this type usually have very low profile tires and low bunk supports. Then find a boat of your choosing that will fit the trailer and the container. You may need to buy seperately and you may have to have some flexability in what you buy.
