Sea Ray Pachanga water lift mufflers

I just recently purchased a 1989 Sea Ray Pachanga 27 with twin Mercruiser 350s - and I have several questions on the Vernatone water lift mufflers that it has. While I am familar with Sea Rays overall - having owned several over the years - I am not familair with these mufflers. I need education on the how and why of how these water lift muffler work, and also the care in terms of winterizing, servicing during normal use, and long term use. I love the sound, the relative low exhaust note yet "got a bark" during idle and cruising speed of the mufflers. I googled them, but..... information is not exactly out there that helps me understand these mufflers. I just know you guys can give me the right info!

Vernatone or Vernalift???? Vernalift have drain plugs

Thanks for the link - must be Vernalifts as there is a drain plug at the bottom - basically - was winterizing the motors and I removed this plug to drain the mufflers.
