Well I guess that’s kind of hard to do since how I don’t have the motor anymore. But I do know because I was told that the motor that was in it was the stock motor from 90 so it is a generation four

1990 was a cross-over year

were the valve covers stamped steel or cast aluminum?

since you are starting with nothing, buy a 1996-2000 Gen VI or later, or build your own.

what do you have for accessories, etc.

all Chevrolet V8's, V6's, I4's and I6's have the same flywheel housing mounting pattern
all big block motors from 1965 have the same dimensions from the flywheel housing plane to the engine mounts
all big block motors have the same exhaust pattern (different port shapes, however the same bolt pattern)
all Chevrolet V8's have used 153 tooth or 168 tooth flywheels with the same clutch cover drive pattern

so yes, with the right accessories, you can bolt in a Mk IV, Gen V, Gen VI, or a Gen VII or even an LS motor or an LT motor.

I would personally build a motor

If it had a Chevy small block V8, then go to a junk yard and buy a 350 core and retro marine it to a "stroker." If you have a TB 5 ignition, it will have an ignition knock sensor that will aid you. If not, you should find a TB 5 with knock sensor. Big difference and valve savior! You will probable get 320 HP out of it and most everything will fit existing small block set up.

if it was stamped steel valve covers, a MK 4, if it was cast covers, a Gen V

either way, you can put any marine built BBC between your accessories and the transom shield. worst case, you need to space the water pump pulley and some brackets 1/4"
