Re: sea ray sundancer step up pump clog
I'm familiar with your systems, but not what you're calling a 'step-up pump'. There are 3 types of water pumps in your boat. Bilge Pumps, 1 fresh water 'pressure' pump, and a Shower Drain Sump Pump.
Bilge Pumps: Pump water from the bilges overboard.
Freshwater Pressure Pump: Pumps water from your water holding tank to the faucets.
Shower Sump Pump: Drains water from the head/shower drain in the sole overboard. The freshwater pressure pump is used to pump water to the shower (on your model, most likely the faucet in the sink in the head which can be mounted to a bracket on the bulkhead to turn the faucet into a shower). The Shower Sump pump then drains the water filling the head from the shower overboard.
The problem im having is I have water in the aft pump compartment when i turn on the step up pump switch it pumps the water into the shower.
This sounds a little like a bilge, but it could be a description of the shower sump. However you then state that it pumps water INTO the shower. This makes it sound like it is the freshwater pressure pump. That would be coming from the water holding tank. When state it pumps it into the shower, do you mean out the faucet?
I've capped off the shower and ran the pump and it goes no where also tried air with no answer i cant even figure out where this drains to to check the outlet please help thanks.
Did you cap off the faucet or the drain in the head/shower?
