Happy Easter Everyone, I'm in the process of putting back together my '91 120 HP Force and I have no grooved crankcase for the seal to fit into. What I had when I took it apart was thin coating of RTV and I don't think it was the Permatex 51813 that I've read about on searches can anyone inlighten me as to the proper precedure for this I was thinking of holding the round spagetti seal in place with a product that holds the gasket in place then goop it up as the diagram in the book shows is this about right?. I'm waiting on my gasket kit but it does show that is comes with round gasket our these kind of formed already and you just have to hold them down?. Any help appreciated. Regards, Paul

Gasket kits usually come to fit a multitude of years and have extra parts.

If your engine does not have the groove for the spaghetti seal, do not use it. You can coat one flange of the crankcase with black or blue silicone RTV OR--- Permatex makes a nice expensive anaerobic sealer in a red tube that Evinrude uses. This stuff is 15 bucks a tube but works really well
