I am thinking about using seacast, I have seen pictures with quad 250's hanging off a seacast transom. I like rebuilding with a core that doesn't rot. The only thing i haven't seen is how does seacast hold up through the test of time ? are you guys seeing any spidering or cracking from stress ? I also hear seacast DOES NOT bond to the older epoxy skins being its polyester based ? Any ideas would be appreciated

Our Wellcraft V-20 has a Seacast transom that was done about 5 years ago, it's solid as a rock we have a 150 Merc on a jackplate, I love it no problems with the full transom replacement. The transom was done professionally by local shop by the previous owner. The Wellcraft V-20 were notorious for rotted transoms. Take a look thru the V-20 repair forum for transom repairs there is a vast wealth of info there here's the link...........

Look at the picture of when we did the interior paint thats my boat you can see the repaired transom.........

I used it.
The naysayers never cease to try to find a negative where there isn't any.
it sticks like stink to anything except plastic , wet wood and wax.
The surface area of the bond inside a transom is huge, sticking to epoxy is therefore a none issue.

Great thanks for the info gentlemen. And yes its epoxy, not vinylester or polyesther its old school epoxy. Made my 8 inch 1/2 horse grinder tuck its tail. I could literally grind thru steel faster then this stuff.
