Does anyone know if it is alright to just eliminate the 3-prong disconnect and "direct pipe" the fuel line from the outboard to the gas tank on the mid 50's seahorses?

Thanks!

Re: Seahorse fuel disconnect

The reason for the fuel line connector is to be able to take the tank out of the boat to refuel, storage, or change to another boat. If you remove the fuel connector, and go direct, you will have to carry the motor and tank as an assembley when you want to remove either the tank or motor from the boat.
After all that, yes, you can go direct with the fuel lines.

And refueling with the tank in the boat is not advisable, and illegal in many jurisdictions.
