seal bravo water pump

Do you have to use any type of sealant on the Sierra water pump kits when placing them on the bravo one piece raw water pump? Thank You!!!

I know the Mercruiser "OEM" pump doesn't. It has a quad ring that makes the seal pretty well.<br /><br />I have no experience with the "Sierra" version. Someone here almost certainly does.

The sierra kit also comes with two rubber rings, the larger one is to seal the body to the pump but what is the smaller one for?
