seal kits for johnson power tilt assembly

i am looking for a seal kit for the power tilt/trim system on my '85 johnson 50hp. on of the piston o-rings is leaking and means the motor comes down slowly when you tilt it up. i took it to the mechanic and i was told that bombardier doesnt make parts for it any more. does anyone know if an aftermarket seal kit is available? is it hard to install? the mechanic said that repairing the tilt system usually renders it unserviceable, whatever that means. any help would be much appreciated.

Jeremy,<br /><br />It sounds like your dealer doesn't want to order parts.<br /><br />They (Bombardier) do not offer a complete seal kit, but individual seals are still available from them - You would need to look at a parts catalog and determine exactly which ones you need. I checked availability for the end cap and tilt cylinder seals and there are plenty to be had.<br /><br />Hope this helps,<br />-John
