Took apart my gearcase on a 1981 15 hp johnson. Going to change impeller, seals, vent and filler teflon rings, etc. Any silicone/gasket required when fitting the gear case back on?

Thanks anyone.

None required, just bolt it back up. Put a little grease at the bottom of the water tube to help it slide in easy.

So without any gasket or sealer, there must me some water getting in there,
right, as it is below the water line?

Reason I'm asking is when I was trying to get the shaft out of the crankshaft, I banged on the housing and bent it slightly (I know, stooopid me). Now the two parts are no mating 100%. I put a small bead of silicone to help seal it.
