Happy friday to all. Ive got my transom cut and glued together. Getting ready to epoxy to outer skin, before i do this whats the next step? Do i put a coat of epoxy on itor epoxy and csm. Ill be using 1708 2 - 3 layers once its in. Im just loikig for the proper way to seal it and get it epoxied to transom. Its just bare wood. Thanks again

You should give her a good soaking on both sides with resin and pay CLOSE attention to the edges. While the second coat is still wet, I would lay on a layer of 1.5 oz mat of fiberglass mat and wrap it around the edges and then another coat of resin to cover it all up. Do this on both sides. When this is all dry, then you're ready for installation. Have you decided on clamping method? If not, you might want to check out the method I suggested for this guy.

This is after the fact because you have already glued up your transom but have a look at this vacuum sealing process for the DIY's. I just completed it and it really does the job. There are pictures of my clamping process also. Look about a 3rd the way down the page.

hi series60, just read your rebuild notes . it was in my language, meaning well explained . shes a nice looking boat . I'am redoing a few things on my 1970 23' dolphin ,with twin 140 mercs i/o . its going slow good . look forward to more picks as you progress with your rebuild .
