Search function not working

I am trying to use the search fuction and keep getting (a) not long enough term?? I don't get it, It has always worked before. I have tried with 3,4,5 words for the same topic and gives me the same thing every time from V bulletin. (a) not enough words?????

I have had problems with the basic search and now use the advanced search with no problems.
