My 1984 15 HP Johnson wasn't getting any cooling water out at all. I did all the usual stuff and couldn't find anything wrong, but still no water. Did a search on this forum and Adm. clanton had hit it right on the head in a previous post. The upper water tube grommet had swollen and was blocking water flow from the pump. I'd never have guessed this in a thousand years. Thanks to clanton and all you other guys who share your experience.

Glad you found the culprit, that is very common on severely overheated 9.9 and 15's. By just reading the post a few before this one, titled Johnson 9.9 cooling problem, would have helped you very quickly.

Thanks, seahorse. I did the search a while back, but yours would have given me the information, too. Appreciate your sharing your experience- I was stumped.
