Sears/Force 9.9/15hp

So.. I recently picked up a motor for 100$ I couldn’t turn down. I got the model number as the whole engine and cover is black so the only ID markings are on the clamp. The model number below sears is 225581501. So I found that that comes back as a 1989 force 15hp. However the serial number is 6684.. which gives me absolutely nothing as these model numbers may be Force, but I can’t find a cross reference to match the serial number with so I can find parts. I have only pulled it to check for lock up and compression. (Not tested just feel for tough or weak)and unbolted the carb so far. I’ve been able to locate a carb kit by searching the various tillotson carbs for these with a matching choke plate as they all seem different. But another thing I’ve found is that I’m more than likely going to have to replace the coils so I want to know what # they are and where to find them. As far as I understand they are BIM and obsolete but there is an update? I’m new to these force/mercury/sears motors but I have an easier time locating parts for my 67 Johnson! Which I’m more familiar with. Always tinkered with Johnson’s never mercury and sons..
So basically...
question1: what is the cross from sears 6684 to force?
question2: what do I do about coils?
question3: what else should I check before maiden run special to these?
question4: mine has a weird second line out the middle of cowling label primer bulb with a plugged hose? Advise?
question5: line out port side appears to go to a diaphragm fuel pump similar to Johnson evinrude (leads to q6) with a quick connect I’m not familiar with or is it something I need to eliminate and just run straight line?
Question6: is this fuel pump similar to Johnson square in that it is rebuildable, and if so procedure layout and kit availability?

Without cross reference I don’t know which impeller to order either or anything and prior to startup attempt I plan to do LU oil change, impeller, plugs/ignition, carb overhaul, and fuel systems check. Thank you all in advance!

*almost forgot! This machine has a 2 blade prop? Not finding anything on that, what should I expect? Should I switch to 3 blade or is this the standard? Boat is a 1970’s 1436 Montgomery ward seaking basic with added 3’ matching gauge deck to hold self made fog lights and bow lights rack and under storage(basically no weight not for standing on) 1”x12” poplar bench toppers as previous owner had a drill fetish...and one battery in the middle. Foam exercise/fatigue mat from Walmart coving floor, No seats either so relatively close to original weight. I mainly catfish with it so I like open floor plan. Just putting the general stuff and weight to give an idea of the workload. I’m also 265.

Lots of questions. And the best idea I have at this point is to post a few pictures of your engine for everyone to see. And then someone could maybe have ideas for your setup. Unless you can match it to a Mercury or Force model, I have nothing at this point. But pictures always helps out. Could be your engine is just painted differently per the contract requirements Sears requested from either engine company at the time. So post up pictures and even close ups of items in question. In my opinion.......you should of let that one go
However, most of the parts are interchangeable as the where all made by MERC. at that point.

The bad news..... all parts are really hard to get(or not at all) & expensive!!!! Check Ebay for pricing before you dump any time/effort into it.

Pics would help a lot.

Don't know why people post things like,
The bad news..... all parts are really hard to get(or not at all) & expensive!!!!
Not true, 99% of the parts are readily available.

If it's a Sears Gamefisher? That motor was made by Chrysler then by Force.
I think Mercury stopped their production when they took over in 95..

On the block on the stbd. side is a foundry stamp.
It's a circle with a number stamped in it.
The middle # should be the year..

If you look for unloved motors you can find parts in various salvage yards, Craigslist, Facebook marketplace etc.
