Hello

I'm selling a SEARS Gamefisher 5hp Model number 217-586612 and want to get it in %100 running order before I do.

Things I need help with

1) Fires up but bogs down randomly , the carb needs a rebuild.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/par...00048787/00007?blt=06&prst=0&shdMod=217586612

I notice the needle / seat and the 2 fuel pump/intake gaskets aren't available, what can I use as a direct replacment?

2) Started recoil needs to be rebuilt as the Dog/ Starter doesn't pop out everytime and only catches randomly.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/par...00048787/00009?blt=06&prst=0&shdMod=217586612

The Dog/Started piece isn't available too. Do you think it's just the return spring or something else I can replace?

3) I see a water pump in the schematics, it doesn't have a pee stream outlet. Should I get mist from the exhaust to see if it working and what temps do these engines run at to test with my IR Thermometer?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And if you know were to get NLA parts for this motor would also be cool.

Thanks,
DamianJP

your on the right track using sears parts look up, take your parts numbers and you can order all carb parts from www.certifiedpartscorp.com , as far as your recoil dogs I would try to diassemble and cleaning them and like you said put a new spring in.

Yes your suppose to feel a mist from the exhaust relief holes, you can get a new impeller and pin from certified.

the only parts for your engine that are NLA would piston, crank, flywheel and actual outer parts like housings and twist grips....ect....but nothing that can't be sourced some place else or found on ebay
