sears gamefisher gas tank ?

my son has our old (25yr )7.5 sears motor--it is black --ran fine with the sears tank but i got tired of buying the 40$ pressure tanks as they would only last a few years-- so i got a regular tank--now, sometimes the small check valve ball in the pressure bulb sticks and stops all gas flow--motor stops--bulb has to be removed from line to unstick the ball-- any comments on this problem???--can you remove the ball and run without it or will the tank loose pressure?--thanks for any comments--somewhere on this fourm i think there is a "sears" motor section -- cant find the darn thing today--thanks again--david

A model number would help tell what tank setup you have.In the 80s most Sears motors would be built by Eska,or Force.At 25 years old it would be a standard tank with a fuel pump at the motor.Your primer bulb needs to be replaced they are available here at Iboats or Walmart among other sources.
Be sure you install it the right way around.
