I've got a 1976 sears and roebuck motor that was made in canada from what I could make out on the ID plate. The SN# is 67600410 and the numbers 6447 were stamped onto the plate. There is another number but I dont know what it is- 574-69660. I think itis a 4.4 hp 2stroke. I was told by some one that it was originally manufactured for the McCulloch chainsaws. The motor ran at one point but now I'm not getting any fire out of it at all. It was suggested to me it may be the points. If and where can I get new points and a coil as well as a conducer for it. I would also like to find a replcement gas tank fot it if possible.

Re: sears motor?

The 574 indicates McCulloch built by McCulloch outboards. There is a slim chance it uses some sort of chainsaw motor power head.I wasnt aware
McCulloch was still building motors in the mid 70s
You could try the Scott guy at:
web.a-znet.com/~scottguy
He does Scott Atwater outboards, they were purchased be McCulloch In the late 50s or early 60s If he cant help he may be able to send you
in the right direction.
