I inherited a Sear's Ted Williams 7.5 Horse air-cooled motor.

I can't find a model number or serial number.

Can anybody tell me what year this was manufactured and if it is worth anything? I know it runs - at least until you get to the middle of the lake when it dies and has to be started again!

The number tag is probably located under the cover somewhere. They made these motors for a number of years. Parts and stuff should be available at sears.com or the 1-800 number listed in your phone book under sears parts. You will need the model number though.

I also recently acquired a 7.5 H.P. Ted Williams. Obtained a manual from Sears once I found the serial number and model number on the shaft of the motor underneath the moveable head? cowling? top? of the motor (the part that moves). It was difficult to see these numbers until I took the cowling off and looked down through a hole to the shaft part underneath. by now you probably know all this. Cheers
