It never even got started this year. With the 2 minor heart attacks since Jan., the last being just a few weeks ago I just had a follow-up today and left disappointed. This time they found and showed me 4 more areas that are occluded but not bad enough to stent. Didn't mention anything about a bypass either. Now it also seems there are blockages again at the ends of my artificial graft that goes to both legs. Waiting now for another CAT scan to determine what's next for the legs.

I have 2 different project boats sitting out there and am having difficulty imagining either being finished any time soon. Actually starting to wonder if I should cut one loose. I hate leaving things open ended, uncompleted. Just doesn't seem right. Might have to finish up the Sea Nymph as it is the closest to completion and part with the Alumacraft though I'll really take a beating on it as it sits.

Want to send out thanks to all my friends here that have sent prayers and well wishes!

Thanks, this is really getting demoralizing. To think just a year and a half ago I was still working 45-55 hours a week. Now it's hard to get out of the chair.

My wife had her first heart attack at 43. She had a stent and the doctor said everything else looked good. Had her next one at 45 that was spring of last year. It has had a huge affect on our priorities. That's one reason I haven't done allot more on our Stratos. The little things ( and they are all little ) are hard to let go of sometimes, but we have to.

I know this is a setback, Bonz. On the brighter side, you are still kicking and thinking about the boats.

Take of yourself first and worry about the boats later. We're pulling for you!

Thanks again everyone! These last 2 have really made me reconsider many things. There have been a lot of adjustments made to this new lifestyle.

While going thru this last one I did contemplate that I don't want to go thru this again. I've gotten too familiar with the routine. It's gotten to the point that getting the IV's is more painful than the actual attack. Somehow those nurses don't understand that every one of those good looking stick sites have been stuck so many times that it is impossible to stick because of scar tissue. At one time the attempt was so painful I think the whole ER heard every obscenity out of my mouth and all the nurse said was "Relax, Breath!" She finally gave up, pulled the failed attempt and I never seen her again. They tried 3 more times before they actually got a successful IV in to go along with the 2 others that were already in place. One in each wrist and one in the forearm.

Sorry for the need to vent.

Good thoughts headed your way Bonz. Setbacks aside, the boats will be fine sitting for a bit, I too know the not now waiting game.

Rest up and keep us updated.

Praying for you, Bonz. Regardless of what we are going through, today is always a great day to reasses priorities, make sure all is right with God, reduce stressors in our life, and love those close to us a little stronger.

Hang tough, Bonz, praying for you.

Dangit, Bonz I hate to hear that. May the good Lord guide the doctors and get you "re-built".

Sorry to hear of it bonz. We'll be praying for ya'.

Not saying anything more here than trying to encourage you ==> Don't let it get in your head 'cuz it does mess with you. It'll try to make you think you're less than what you are (or should be), or that you've screwed up way too far, or whatever else. It's amazing how that kind of depression can kick in. You've got to fight the tendency to be depressed about it, and refocus that energy to work the problem, and beat the problem.

Thank you all very ,very much. Was having a little difficulty last night. Must have been the Full Moon shining thru my window. Or the facts of what lay ahead. As the Dr. said yesterday, "the pump is in great shape but the plumbing is all shot". What a concept to look forward to.

Anyhow thanks for the group therapy session I needed it.

so how much you selling that old boat for?.......................

I'm kidding. take the time you need to recover. the nice thing about old projects laying around is they don't eat much. let them sit, and they will be there when you are ready to get after them.

Vent away, Bonz! It's always good to talk to people when things aren't going so well. Don't keep it in. Getting it out should make you feel better! So vent away anytime....... Just keep movin' forward.....

Thanks WIMUSKY I haven't seen that old poster in ages, brings back memories.

As much as I'm not looking forward to another CAT scan with more IV's and most likely another major surgery I'm hopeful that it will find something that can be repaired and reduce the daily pain and restore my stamina and ability to walk more than just to the end of the driveway.

In retrospect it was a very long hard winter season that may have contributed to some of this as the health of my legs has greatly reduced sense last fall when I was still getting out and being more active. Last winter was the 1st one that I was not working every day. The 1st one that I felt more secluded and shut in. The 1st one that I found myself sitting wrapped in a blanket feeling cold when it was 72* in the house or arguing with the wife about an extra blanket on the bed at night and still being cold..

Guess I'm still learning to cope with this disability and the changes that are going on within this ol' body. Did I mention that I hate getting IV's?
