I am trying to remove the side mounted throttle control of a customer's Seaswirl so I can reupholster the side panel. I assume the throttle stick must come off first, and then the back mounted pieces can be removed. I have removed the center screw that fits into the white plastic post seen in the picture. I have also removed the screw that holds the black plate behind the throttle. Any idea how these come off?5554555572831510182.JPG1655821874084560831.JPG8948223822374688413.JPG

I haven't taken off a ton of throttles, but I'll try to be helpful.

First, put it in neutral, take a picture and mark the position of the cables and brackets, then remove the cables.

Often, the lever doesn't need to actually come off, so I would put that screw back in for now.

Usually this bigger plate (circled in yellow) is attached to the throttle with machine screws and sandwiched onto the gunnel pads. I'm thinking these screws marked with blue.

Be careful to get that center cable bracket in the same position it was in. The hole is usually a square, and the ends are bent, so try to mark that with a sharpie before taking it off.

Again, it's not something I do very often. Some do need the lever to come off, but I don't think this is one of them.

Put the throttle lever in near full reverse, and look for a slot in the throttle arm, at about the 8-9 'o'clock position. There should be an Allen set screw holding the throttle arm on.
