Like many, I want to remove my back to back seat and install a swivel chair. I removed the seat and now left with a glassed in box with foam in the middle. Can i carefully sawzal it flush to the deck? Not sure if the foam is under the deck but I can install new sealed plywood or whatever nessesary steps after it's removed. Is removing a big deal. Thx

this is a 89 Searay Bowrider .

For that seat base to be glassed in is pretty unusual. My '88 SeaRay seat bases were screwed down, as were all the other boats I have seen. The seat bases in my speedboat are glassed in, but I needed to do that to make them strong enough.

I would dig out that foam and look for some 1/4-20 nuts, as My SeaRay had bolts glassed in under the deck, which mounted the seat bases.

They are most certainly glassed in...or atleast some kind of resin. Heavy too. I found two videos of someone doing the same with them all glassed in. I moved further and its appearing to be non structual... of course not.. But I was wonder how involved. I sure wish they were bolted. So far I did find some wood rot. I'll address once all removed.
