Sooo … made it out a couple weeks back after making some repairs. Changed to a powertech Red4 13 1/4x19 and raised motor one set of holes. The Dauntless 18 has a stern cutout. Anywhoooo … better water conditions made things nicer. Made 4850 rpms on the Red4 13.25x19, but that was with trim in. Now this is gonna sound stupid, but I was working the trim button backward. I am Polish after all. The boat gripped well, handled well, holeshot well, but it still appeared to be running too low. Third time out … today 7/2/25. Changed to Powertech Red3 13 1/4x20. Nice! Lost a bit of holeshot, but boat preformed and handled very well. Made some torque steer adjustments and was even better. Motor still too low. Numbers today were 5000 rpm, 40mph on gps, trimmed out on nice water. I think the Red3 and Red4 will serve me well after raising the motor a bit more. Its a Mercury 125 Bluewater. So rrpm range on my model is 4950-5250 WOT. I still have a Mercury Spitfire 12.5x19 aluminum to test. The solas 13 1/4x21 worked well but slipped too much for my setup. I think it would really well for someone with a bit lighter boat. HillBilly out. Still have the holiday to try some things. Wont raise motor just yet as I like the sealant to dry a few days before water. Any opinions are appreciated.

Sounds like you have a Boston Whaler and your trying to get it dialed in . I would post on Facebook, Everything Boston Whaler, specifically tagging Jeff Rohlfing , the moderator and guru of Whalers and set ups . Second choice would be The Hull Truth , tagging Tom Clark , I believe . Usually you can find him responding to most prop questions .
