Plug it Ray. I plug my tires when they pick up nails and such and have never had a problem. Good luck on not obsessing over this truck dude :D

Ray be thankful that is the only thing that has happened. Even though that is agravating enough.

I found that there are 3 things that will happen to a new car.

1. Some Jerk will ram their shooping cart into you or you will get a tap or ding in the side or bumper. (I saw this has already happen to you.)

2. A stone will be flung up and put a nice star in your windshield. ( happen to me with only having the car for 3 months  )

3. Or and his is the worst. A darn deer runs out in front of you messing up your entire front end.

If thats all that has happen consider yourself lucky. I was just on I78 on tuesday and hit smoething that belw out my rr tire. Not happy. I don't know what it is with this car I seem to pick up and fix more tires on this car, then I ever have on my previous cars.

Re: Second Bath, First Oil Change, New Wound

Jgregory, its funny you should mention the deer thing. Back in 89, I bought my first car, a brand new Dodge Daytona Shelby Turbo. I went about a month and got a nail in the tire, no big deal. Went about six months and hit a deer while I was going 85 mph on a back road down in Georgia. It destroyed the front end of that car, lit off the airbag (which is a horrible experience in its own right), and because I was still doing 85 when the bag went off, it popped my hands off the wheel causing me to lose control and go into the ditch, tearing up the passenger side of the car. I had hair and blood and feces all the way up and over the car. Needless to say, the deer did not run off, it was all twisted up and ripped to shreds. That was the only brand new car I have ever bought, I only buy used now. That way I skip the new car gets scratched trauma....

Strangers have me pegged now!!!!

went outeide, a cute girl says, wow, what year is that?

2003 ... runs like new!

she laughed, sure is a pretty truck!!!

I better not tell the one woman green eyed monster parade about that tho, otherwise shell buy me a nice camo paint job, lol

alls well that ends well, if the plug holds I saved 79 dollars, if not, I lost 12 - good gamble I figure

jeeze - another pretty red truck plagued with bad luck!

my north jersey girl has a red honda, whacked a deer too, had her horribly upset, shes totally upset about all the construction up north cutting off the deers place to live, making them constantly forage across roadways (shes even a member of popcorn park!)

there was a movie called Used Cars, starred Kurt Russel, one guy in the movie had a total phobia about red cars, lol

Im beginning to see why! both of my chevy convertibles were red, and they were bad luck buggies too, I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE GONE BLACK!!!

ummmmm, that doesnt look too good, lemme rephrase that ...

:p

Re: Second Bath, First Oil Change, New Wound

Years ago (in another life) I had 6 flat tires in 3 weeks. Of coure I was in and out of construction sites. I got real good and quick at changing tires. It taught me (slow learner) to carry plugs and a plugging tool and a small inflator (kind that plugs into the cigarette lighter). I don't change them anymore I just plug em and inflate and get back on the road. I also carry a large can of Fix-a-Flat. The only problem I have had with a plugged tire is that occasionally the plug will leak or wear out.

Been using plugs for fifteen years. recently had a leaker that required two plugs in the same hole. You would amazed at how little air is lost if you know what your doing. Then just air it up. Aways keep a kit in the vehicles. Now the make a vucanizing plug that does not require the expoxy. The pressure alone fuses it to the tire rubber.
