Anyone been in to Second Chance Sporting Goods? I read about it in the Bass Times Magizine. It's in St Peters Mo. Just wondering if it is worth driving to.

Howdy.

Welcome to iboats. :)

Not a good choice for a first post, legs. Makes it look like you are spamming some other store in our store.

Not really a fishing topic anyway. Think about it.

Aha!! A consignment store that (re)sells fishing gear and tackle.

That sounds a lot more iboats friendly. Tell us more about it. :)

Re: Second Chance Sporting Goods!

We used to have a store here called "Play it again sports"

In our local store they had rods and reels, tackle and so forth. Skis, tubes..

I've bought stuff from them when I was younger. Great deals. But they since closed down.

It's actually a good concept. Take your stuff in, they give you very little cash or more store credit. This way your water skis you dont use anymore can now go to someone that can't afford new ones. Then you traded your skis for a new rod and reel...

^^^^^ They have one of those here but I've never been. Allways thought of it as a place to pick up used baseball equipment to help equip a little league team or things like that. Maybe even the place where unloved exercise equipment spends it's final days.

Sounds like it might be worth checking out.

When they 1st opened here, they had nothing but sports equip. But as some time past, they started to take in fishing and boating stuff.

OK here it is I just came from there and yes they do carry fishing hunting camping and some boating stuff and its all consignment. Not much on the hunting stuff because they said St. Peters won't let them carry guns they have some used bows though. But I like how they do their consignment it is a step down method the more the product is worth the more percentage you recieve. They have a lot of crankbaits and soft plastic, rod and reels you can tell the owner is a fisherman or he knows a lot of fisherman. I bought a Loomis rod and a 200 shimano reel. And a few Bandit NIB for around 3.50 most of their crankbaits are 2.98. All and all it is definately worth checking out.:D

???

Since when are fishing and boating not sports? :D

Got a few places like that around here, too. First thing I did when I got to CA was go to one of these places and get a good pier/surf rod, some lobster hoops, and a shorty wetsuit.

A wise man once told me... Fishing and Hunting are the only true sports...everything else is just a game :)
