securing 9 48 spl with tilt assist removed

Hi guys, just picked up a 15ft Grumman center console. Figured it would be a good beginner boat for my 14 year old son.

Anyway, the boat has a 48 spl but the tilt assist shock was removed. The PO built up a block of wood that held it at zero trim. To prevent movement it had a large cable tie holding the lower unit to the frame.

I plan to put a CMC power tilt and trim on but need to figure out how to lock the motor down, any ideas?

Check with CMC and see what they have to say. I'll bet they have run into this prob before.
