We have a 90 model Evinrude 88 SPL
Model # E88MSLESA

She sat for 2 years. After alot if help from this forum and trial and error, we thought we had her fixed. After starting from carbs to replacing fuel lines to linkage, we found we had a blown head gasket after having low compression on the bottom right cylinder. It was replaced with OMC gasket and torqued correctly. The boat ran like a bat out of ****. It was great! After, two all day trips on the river, same problems started all over again! They started when we changed over to our reserve tank that day. (We bought a portable tank during fuel problem tests) She started bogging. We came home and found 30 psi on bottom right cylinder, same one as before. He took it apart and the brand new head gasket was blown. It was just a small spot blown compared to the first one, but now there is what looks like a raised spot on the cylinder wall (carbon?)and a small score on the piston. I can post a pic if it would help? What would have caused this? We had rebuilt carbs twice, added engine tuner, replaced all fuel lines, lync and sync, everything we could think of and the boat was running great for 2 days, 100 to 90 psi on all cylinders and screaming fast. She will run but has no power now. Any ideas as to what would have caused this? Is it ok to just have one cylinder fixed or could it be that it could be ok as it is and there is another problem causing the gasket to blow. I havent been frustrated by anything this bad in a long time!
