Re: SEI Outdrives

I am happy with my purchase of a SEI drive (even though I don't have a lot of hours on it). I have one on the port 5.7 Mercruiser/Alpha in my Sea Ray. When it was first installed - it made a lot of noise - mechanical with a whine. However - as it has been run approximately 25 hours since installation (Not exactly a long time per se) and an lube oil change later - it has gotten quiet - so much so -that the starboard drive - the original Mercruiser Alpha - with 740 hours on it - is very much louder in mechanical noise. I am thinking that the gears in the SEI wore in... ???? and have settled into a happy life together. It was lot less expensive than a new Mercruiser drive.

He also said that that all of them made a wine at first. then after 15-20 hr flushed them with parts washer fluid in a pressurized filler, Then refilled them with,BRP HPF.
