The 454 in my recently purchased boat was seized and I posted an earlier thread to discuss the possibilities for repair. The block had a small crack on the exterior from freezing as it wasn't drained prior to storage.
The block is completely torn down now and it appears that this minor crack will not be an issue. The water sitting on top of the pistons caused cylinder wall pitting so it will be bored .030 over stock and new main, connecting rod and camshaft bearings will be done with the new pistons and rings.
Everything was cleaned in the cabinet washer today and looks good. I'm pretty pleased that I will able to get this thing in the water on the cheap. A friend of 30+ years with a large shop at his house with more equipment than you can imagine helps a lot. Latest Pics here: http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg114/poofdirt/#!cpZZ1QQtppZZ20
