Seized power trim bush

My 1988 Mariner 60hp has a hydraulic unit on either side of the engine to effect trim and tilt. The lower end of each unit connects to a circular bar that runs from one side of the engine to the other. The connection to this bar is cushioned by a rubber bush. In my case the steel casing that surrounds this bush (ie part of the hydraulic unit) has rusted and expanded to the extent that it now binds the bar as the engine goes up and down. Is there any way to fix this apart from buying a complete hydraulic unit (even if you can still get one!)
