Dont you just love the bias of the media. They are so transparent, they are pathetic.

Here are the headlines...

"Bush: Iraq Bombers 'Are Having an Effect' "

Here is the full story.

He said he understands why Americans have doubts about Iraq's ability. "They're looking on your TV screen and seeing indiscriminate bombings, where thousands of innocent — or hundreds of innocent Iraqis are getting killed ..." But Bush said those pictures do not reflect that 15 of Iraq's 18 provinces are relatively stable and that small businesses are starting up. "Life is better now than it was under Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)."

"But no question about it. The bombers are having an effect ... They're trying to shake the will of the Iraqi people and, frankly, trying to shake the will of the American people."

Bush warned that insurgents would try to delay Iraq's elections, scheduled for Jan. 30, and intimidate the people. "I certainly don't expect the process to be trouble-free," the president said. "Yet I am confident of the result. I'm confident that terrorists will fail, the elections will go forward and Iraq will be a democracy...." He said he could not predict when American forces could come home.

Ken

Every where you look or listen, the news media preloads their articles like that. They are really hoping that you just read the heading. It's very pathetic but you don't see those, on this forum, who agree with the Left, paying it any mind. It's another example of the ends justifying their means.

And people still wonder why Bush never admits to any mistakes.

You would hear that sound bite for 50 years.

Ken

Another example:

"You go to war with the Army you have." D. Rumsfeld.

I worked for Mr. Rumsfeld for a couple of years during his stint as a CEO of GD Searle while I was Training Director at Searle Diagnostics.

One thing that man is not is callous, but he does have skin 3" thick.

The terrorist insurgents are celebrating because of this. But the important thing is the press got the quote they wanted..

JB, you hit it right on. Thick skinned is a thing of the past. Our world was a bit simpler before the onset of everything being offensive from war to religion.

The problem with the media is, that its not about the story, its about their Pulitzer Prize!

Don't know of a man in a "high" position either in government or public sector that does not. It's a requirement of leadership.

I heard a saying once..
When you are on top of the needle, there is always someone trying to p*r*i*c*k you.

The "unwritten" word is sometimes more powerful than the written one.

Selective deletions can completely turn around the meaning of a statement. The American media are masters at selective deletion.

Good new is no news ... never trust what you read / see thats reported from one source, build up a picture of the truth by watching / reading from different sources.

Yes indeed. "Where do you get your news?"
It sure isn't the local Gannet paper, The "FORT MYERS NEWSPRESS".
Top headline in 1" bold black lettering;
"BUSH ADMITS IRAQIS UNABLE TO RULE"
If I were unfortunate enough to werk for this rag, the sun would've rose on my resignation!
