my boat doesnt have selectric controls, so

i am going to use a toggle switch to feed +12v to the green wire to get neutral, and a momentary press button for the additional +12v for reverse.

where do i get my 12v from?
if the battery, is it ok to supply power when the engine is off?
if accessory wire from engine, can it support the load? (that may apply 12v when engine isnt running)
if buzzerline....

which should i use? i want to do it right and got connectors for the job.

use the accessory terminal on the igniton switch, like the original. You will also need the blocking diode.

i have thought about this for a few days, can i get around not using a diode?

do you know where i can find a wiring diagram for selectric controls, so i may figure out where to insert diode(s)?

If you don't have the blocking diode, you can't turn the motor off. It goes between the igniton switch and shift switch, arrow pointing toward the shift switch
