Hi:

I just listed my 1956 Mark 20H racing motor on ebay and I got a question from someone who may be interested. He specifically wondered if the serial number on the block matches the serial number on the tag. Where is the s/n located on the block for this motor. I checked my merc 110 and the s/n is stamped on the block by the exhaust cover. What about the Mark 20H?

Oh yeah - and if any of you are interested yourself, have a look:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=310&item=7154877478&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Re: selling mark 20h and have question

Sorry, but that was kind of a silly question (not yours). It's a racing motor. That thing has been fidgeted with and modified endlessly. That's like asking if the motor in the #24 car is original.

If you see no numbers, just answer "Sorry, I find no serial number on the powerhead or anyplace where it would be".

Re: selling mark 20h and have question

Hi Willy:

I kind of thought the same thing. But I thought I would ask anyway. Just looking at this thing I can tell that a previous owner had messed with it. But it's still a Mark 20H motor, even if it might have a replacement p-head. I will quit looking - I've got the honey-do list to get through today and can't be spending too much time monkeying with the more important stuff :D

Thanks.
