I've realized I won't live long enough to get to all the projects I've accumulated over the years and I searched for forum rules about posting items for sale but don't find anything mentioned, and don't see a forum classified section.

So, ok or no?

Tnx.

iboats is a parts selling business.... as such they don't host a for sale forum from which they'd receive competition

If you want to sell a whole boat, you can do that in the classifieds; http://www.iboats.com/sell-a-boat/

Parts and boats can't be sold directly on the forum's per rule;

"8. You may not solicit any personal transaction (buy, sell, free, donate, etc.) in the forum. Personal transactions arranged completely by Private Message are not affected by this rule. Solicitation by PM must be preceded by contact in the forum."

You can still easily sell your stuff. (Just NOT here)

A few years ago, I removed a complete OMC King Kobra 460 etc and replaced it with a complete 454 Bravo.

I then set out selling all the OMG King Kobra "stuff" piece by piece on Craigslist and EBAY etc. people here who read my "rant" on the Cobra also contacted me by PM (private message) etc to ask about parts and stuff for sale.

When it was all said and done (which took more than 3 years and I still have a few trinkets left that I decided to keep) I got over $3500 for everything!!

So it can be done.

You just cannot post anything in an iboats forum for sale.

Cheers,

Rick

Re: Selling on forum?

depending on where you are, look for a local boat/fishing forum and sell there. Then you don't have the hassle, expense and risk of remote transactions.
Some forums restrict this, too, unless it's an occassional accomodation sale. Others allow commercial accounts.

Thanks again to all - as Home Cookin' said, some forums do, some don't.
I'll check into the other options mentioned.
