Seloc manual is a waste of money, half the operations dont have my kind of engine, Force 50, and there is no specific information like part numbers, temperatures, compression.

Will someone please explain how i find parts for a specific engine on iboats.com

I am searching for things like "force thermostat" and i am getting results that all say their for force but dont tell year or model number. All they have is a part #.

Since seloc is garbage and dosnt tell part #'s i am at a loss as to how i am supposed to find the right parts in general.

~gratis

Chris @ Smith'd Marina

For factory available parts from Mercury, go here
mercruiserparts.com/selectModels3.asp?type_id=FORC

They have year/model specic diagrams and part numbers.

For parts that are are availabe from aftermarket suppliers, start here
http://www.iboats.com/mall/partfinder/*******.601407269&**********=391631534

As far as the Seloc manual, yes it is garbage for Force motors, I have both Seloc and Clyner, and much prefer the Clymer manual.
There are so many model variation with Force motors, Clymer does a pretty decent job of sorting them all out.

Neither manual gives part numbers, as they change over time.

If you can find it, get the Force service manual for that year and model engine. It has all the parts and specs you need to troubleshoot and repair most problems.

Chrysler 115

According to my Seloc manual, the serial number for my motor is to be found on the transom clamp on the port side and then it says the starboard side or it will be on the port side of the block.

There's nothing on either side of the clamp and the only numbers I can find on the engine are on the starboard side or the head.

The one on the starboard side of the block is - 440010-2. The one one the head is - 523995.

Are either of these numbers the serial number or can I find it in another location?

Thanks

Found the serial number - below the carbs where the cover latches to the bottom.

Why isn't that listed in the book:/

oh, well
