Any votes on which general service manual is best for an '84 8hp Johnson Seahorse Longshaft - Seloc or Clymer?

I know the best is the factory one but that is more than twice even 3x as much as these so...

neither! do yourself a favor and buy an OEM service manual model specific. Ask the dealer to include all service bulletin on your motor.

If you can find one on ebay, the OEM manual is not double the aftermarket.

Have not been able to find a used one on e-bay, amazon or other sites. Never having viewed the manuals, I am sure the factory on is much better, but are the general manuals detailed enough to pull apart heads, gears and the like considering I do all the basic stuff without them.

The Seloc is better than the Clymer. The OEM is better than both. Spend the money, it'll save you in the long run.

I have a Clymer and an OMC. The Clymer really blows. The OMC manual is just fantastic. I've no experience with Seloc. BTW got my OMC for two bucks on ebay!
