sending units

I replaced my gauges with sw. Used universal senders. They are not working correctly. Do they need sw sending units?? Also replaced the speedometer tube and pick up Speedometer still doesn't work what can go bad in a speedometer . Thanks Rich

No replies yet?,Here are my thoughts. The sending units and gauges "have" to be matched. Blow into the end of the speedo tube and see if the gauge reacts. No movement=new gauge.

If you used automotive Stewart Warner gauges you need automotive senders. Marine gauges in the United States are standard and require marine senders.
