Not possible Jack. When you "glue" PVC together, you are actually chemically melting the pieces together. You will have to cut the PVC and use a union or new coupling if there is enough room to bend the two pieces far enough. Are we talking plumbing drain PVC, or something else?
Thanks, sangerwalker. I was afraid that was what the answer would be, but thought maybe one of you ingenious guys would have figured out a way. It's my main supply line from the meter. Oh well, nothing's simple is, it?
use that purple primer,, IS A ABSOLUTE MUST.. or your joint wlll leak.. ( pvc glue is water soluable )..

an make sure the pipe is dry ..( the glue wont work )..

keep water off ( no water an pressure ) overnite.. ( the glue seemily set up quick an it does,, but takes time to cure )
Hey Jack, just a suggestion here. If you have a male threaded adaptor that is glued to a straight section, here is a tip. Thread in a brass nipple about 3 inch long. Then get yourself one of those slip on unions. Their about 6 to 8" long. Slide one end over the nipple and then your straight section. Then tighen both ends of it. No more glued joint. Then it makes it easy to remove later on if needed. Its just like a big compression fitting. Good luck and good advice from ole Crab bait....
