Serial Number Location?

I have a 1985 Merc 150HP XR2 BlackMax.........

Can anyone help me out on the location of the serial number on the motor?

There should be a plate on the transom mount with that info. If it is missing look for a welsh plug on top of the motor with the serial no. stamped into it.
