My son just bought a '55 Evinrude 25 hp Big Twin and picked up a service manual at a local shop so he can do things right. He's a novice with this stuff, and I'm no expert. The manual's by Clymer for 1956 to 1972 Evinrudes. The shop told him it'll work fine for him, but I'm concerned that there will be differences he's not going to be able to get around. First thing I see is a difference in original fuel / oil ratio from 20:1 to 24:1. Should he get his money back or run with it. Seems to me if it would work fine for a '55, they'd have advertised it that way!
Thanks in advance for your advice.
