Hi all,
I'm running a 98 Javelin with a VMax 150 plus a rite hite manual JP with a 6" setback. I am considering going with either a 8" or 10", but I'm not sure what performance gains I would get or headaches I may create. I would appreciate any advice on how to decide how far back I can go without causing any performance or structural issues with my craft. Any Ideas?

Thanks

Re: Set back on Jack Plate

The total set back and height has a lot to do with what prop your going to run. Since you already have a 6" the solution is real easy. Order a set of 2" spacers and test. If you gain, youre going in the right direction.

Sounds like you have a good rig. Run tests to establish a baseline and then make adjustments.

Re: Set back on Jack Plate

Now that is very sound and practical advice. For some reason, it never occured to me to try spacers before purchasing a new JP. Thanks Dhadley for the tip.

Gerald
