I would like to know how to set the carburators for a 75 h.p. merc. It is a 2002 and just bought it last year and starts a little hard but idles very rough and you can smell gas. It seems to run just fine full throttle. I believe it just needs adjustment and would like to know the proper way to adjust the carbs. Thanks.

Your carborators will have idler screws somewhere on them. They propably sit by themselves on the carbs on the side where the butterflies are. <br /> To tell you the truth, you need a shop manual if you plan to do maintenance yourself.

Thank you for your quick response. I do know where the carb. adjustment screws are. I just need to know the number of turns to get the carbs to where it idles and so that I can get all three set the same. Thank you.
