several technical questions

Hello all, a few questions that I need help with...

1) when smearing anti-seize on threads, how much is the right amount? do you smear 360 degrees around, and over the complete area of thread contact, or just a little bit and let it spread when tightening?

2) how much threadlocker to use, complete coating or a little dab across the threads where contact will be?

3) how warm will an outdrive get when hooked up to the muffs for flushing? Alpha 1, leg full down, idle speed.... should it get warm to the touch and have a little steam coming off of it if the air is cold outside?

Thanks all.

Re: several technical questions

When I apply stuff to threads, I apply all the way around. You don't have to make a mess, but you want to make sure there is enough to do it's job.

Does your drive exhaust through the prop? Might get warm/hot.

Re: several technical questions

I used this stuff daily at my job. I was taught to use never-seize liberally and just one drop of loc-tite. 2 drops on big bolts.

Re: several technical questions

I don't know about an outdrive but my ouboard gets warm with steam coming off when its cold. My outboard doesn't have a t-stat either.
I'm sure your fine.
