Shaft extension

I have a 1984 50 HP Evinrude. Is there a kit available to extend the shaft on this motor and are they expensive?<br />Thanks, Tom

Tom<br /><br />I don't believe there are extentions avaiable. New ones are about $200.00. I have heard of people welding in a section, but I don't know how it worked out. What all are you trying to do?
