I know what you are thinking, and this is not it :)

My removable pedestal seats have a shaft that sticks in a hole on the base and uses a button latch.

Although the boat is new, removing these seats requires a move that can only be likened to a drunken Scot trying to lift a 200# cannonball off of the ground

It would like to find something to lubricate these mounts (which use plastice sleeves) without becoming gummy and making it worse.

Any ideas are appreciated.

No offense to the fine Scots, but don't they like to drink and throw huge objects around :)

Mabey some powderd Graphite might help.

You can get it at a hardware store.

Let us know if you try it and it works.

Derwood.

Re: Shaft stuck in hole !!!

It's time to plan on a rebuild this coming winter season. That used to happen on a bass boat I fished out of and yes it is frustrating.

Solution: Turn the shafts down about 1/16" in a metal lathe. Cure the problem we had.

Bob

Silicone works great for pedistal seats. Does not gum up either. Tight lines.

Since they have plastic sleeves in the base, I simply sprayed in some AmorAll.

They pull right out now.

Thanks everyone.
