Shallow water concerns

So, our river is pretty shallow (sand bars). I was investigating pontoon boats, since I saw an old one on the river, but I stumbled on a zodiac semi-rigid inflatable jet boat for sale.

What are the experts thoughts about shallow water and inflatables/jet boats? Ideal combination? There's no low prop to hit the bottom, right? Worry about sucking in sand?

Thanks from still-a-newbie.

Inflatables overall run very shallow, so I think it is a great combination .... and ideal for what you want to use it for ...

depending on the jet drive that may be an issue, ingesting sand, pebbles, old lines, plastic bags etc can cause you a lot of problems also, im not sure what drive would be in your boat, but if it is an omc turbojet (used in some inflatable jet boats) pay attention, the engine has been called bulletproof and parts are cheaply and readily available, but the jet unit can be hard to find parts for. that being said, i have one(not in an inflatable though, wish it was) and i love it.
