shallow water trim lever

I have a 1996 40 hp Tohatsu outboard. The spring for the shallow water tilt come off. Can anyone tell where it mounts to the bracket? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you!

Having your model would help. Year is not the determining factor for service.
